Flexing that reading muscle

Logging some items that I've read, during my brief time unemployed, but didn't write about.

Carthago

This is a great series of comics. Carthago (Books 1-5) and Carthago Origins (Books 6-10) from Humanoids rips along at a great pace, mixing ecological concerns with prehistoric "monsters".

Picked up the digital copies through Humble Bundle.

Tales From The Loop

I've loved Simon Stålenhag's artwork for ages. Tales from The Loop combines his art with little vignettes written to them. Rusting hulks and fantastic machines in the Swedish suburbs & countryside.

A fairly quick read as this is a mix of coffee table art book and short sci-fi stories.

I also had Music for DOS playing when reading this. An album by Simon, created on an old Pentium computer. Seemed to fit nicely.

The Solar Grid

I've been waiting for Ganzeer to publish a few of the 'The Solar Grid' before I picked them up. Now with 8 of the 9 planned issues out I snapped them up. Read them in one sitting. A great sprawling tale of a future between Earth, The Moon, and Mars.

Definitely worth getting if you like your futures dystopian.

Nerd Do Well

This is Simon Pegg's autobiography covering growing up, school, and getting a foothold in writing & acting.

I had started Nerd Do Well a while ago, but put it down during my reading slump. It's enjoyable, and being roughly the same age, connecting with the same influences he was as we both grew up was fun.

It's not a "tell-all" and only touches the 'Spaced' and 'Shaun of the Dead' period briefly.
