A cozy fantasy novel
This was one of the books I got this year for my birthday. Described as Warm beds, quaint mysteries, and the best rosemary bread this side of Pigsend Creek
, it certainly lived up to the "cozy" label.
I found it an easy and enjoyable read, but slightly lacking for me. Not as whimsical as Pratchett's Discworld work, nor as detailed and dark as Tolkien.
I know this is a start of a series, and there are a few tantalizing mysteries still hanging out there at the end, but it wasn't enough for me to try the next book.
