Deadpool & Wolverine

Today Josh & I watched Deadpool & Wolverine.

There are a lot of good jokes and big action set pieces, as well as the 4th wall breaking you'd expect from the previous films. Some really good performances, especially Hugh Jackman.

Some big cameos that worked well, and I'm sure some I missed from the various Marvel incarnations. Also some nice touches recreating various comic covers and versions of Wolverine.

I really felt the 128 mins though. It seemed very baggy in places. I truly believe you could've got a better film by trimming 20 minutes out of this.

There was some very noticeable green screen with Matthew Macfadyen's character at the start of the film. Not sure if this was from re-shoots, changes to the script, or what but it was odd.

As I said there were some good action pieces, but there were also some duds. One felt like they only had a single camera for the day. Completely flat. They also went on for a little too long.

Quite a few loose threads and confusion with the plot. Like they forgot about things halfway through, then hand-wave them away at the end.

Though I laughed a fair bit, I came away feeling a little disappointed. As Chris put it It's more an event, than a movie I'd re-watch, which sums it pretty well for me.
