This was the first time I've tried making sausage gravy, though I've eaten it many times in diners.
I followed the directions from Hillbilly Kitchen's video. Like most "simple" dishes you can ruin it pretty easy. - Too thin, burnt, no taste.
But this turned out pretty good. I had it with a fried slice and some of the sausage. Next time I'll cook up some American biscuits to have with it.
- 2 to 4 ounces of uncooked sausage
- ¼ Cup flour
- 2 Cup milk
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Smash/crumble sausage in skillet (preferably one you just cooked sausage or bacon in) and cook over a medium heat
- When browned
sprinklesieve over flour and mix, adding salt & pepper to taste
- Pour in all the milk and keep stirring until thickened
