On an impulse I ordered my first pizza from @Citizen.pie. Picked up a "Little Italy" on the way home. Delicious wood fired oven neopolitan goodness. I ate it all. So stuffed 😊

A week of ads on @Instagram and the app is unbearable…

Instagram have been dipping their toe back into the advertising pool again and it’s terrible.

Beginning of the month began, like previous attempts, with an onslaught of adverts in my timeline. A mix of people I already follow and products I have zero interest in.

The past week it’s been really frustrating getting through all of them. I’ve gone from ignoring, to hiding, to reporting each one as SPAM. Now they appear in the stories too (ala Snapchat).

This only appears to be within the Android app so I’m waving the white flag and uninstalling the app from my tablet (where I do the most browsing). I’ll keep it on my phone so I can still post, and use the web version for everything else.

Tumblr did the same thing and I ended up just abandoning the service altogether.

I know it’s a business model and they need money, but for all the information I freely give up to use the service I really expect a better ad program – This just seems so un-targeted and scattershot. And don’t show me ads from accounts I already follow. It sours that existing relationship.
